Ying comes from China and received her degree of Master of Research in Advanced Chemical Sciences from the University of Liverpool. After graduating, she took a position of research assistant in the field of surface functionalization.
“I’m fascinated with applied materials, electrochemistry and energy storage/conversion devices, which is why I chose to apply for the POLYSTORAGE ESR position. Moreover, the challenging opportunity of working on real-life technical issues and acting across multiple countries and organizations has given me further motivation.”, Ying states.
Her hosting institution is Politecnico di Torino in Italy, and she’ll carry out the PhD project under the supervision of Prof. Claudio Gerbaldi. The goal of the project is to obtain advanced all-solid-state polymer electrolytes, specifically focusing on the synthesis and characterization of composite polymer electrolytes with good properties in terms of ionic conductivity, thermal stability, compatibility with the electrodes, etc.
In her spare time, Ying enjoys doing sports, and the martial arts is her favourite. Besides, she is also a beginner in photography and drawing.
