About

Claudio Gerbaldi received his PhD in Materials Science and Technology at the Politecnico di Torino (2006), Italy. After several Post-Doc positions (2006‒2011), he joined the Politecnico di Torino as an assistant professor and, then, associate professor in 2014. From December 2019, he is full professor of chemistry for applied technologies at the Department of Applied Science and Technology – DISAT (GAME Lab).

His long-standing interest on electrochemical energy storage (>18 years) is devoted to the Synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials and, chiefly, the development and characterization of innovative polymer electrolytes by UV/thermally induced polymerisation, hybrid organic-inorganic materials, e.g. exploring the role of natural fibres for long-term stabilization reduction of the manufacturing cost. He has received several awards, e.g. the ‘‘UniCredit Award’’ for the Young Innovation in Research (2007) and the Piontelli Award of the Italian Republic (2015), and is Governing Board member of the Electrochemistry division of the Italian Chemical Society.

He is Author/co-Author of more than 138 high-impact peer-reviewed scientific research articles with > 1000 annual citation counts in recent years (H-index 47 SCOPUS 06/2020).
